Project Management

Project Management is the most important formal process that is used in virtually all professional organizations to turn an idea into a product or service.  It is a formal process that manages and schedules all of the resources and applies them efficiently, while anticipating and managing risk to deliver the product or service on time, and within budget.  Effective project managers are the unsung heroes in all organizations and are highly coveted.  Since project management is so central to the successful running of an organization, demonstration of project management knowledge, skills, and experience significantly increases your value as a prospective employee.  Scientists employ project management practices as a natural aspect of taking a hypothesis from idea to conclusion.   As such, you, as a scientist have significant experience doing project management.  This module will connect the dots between your current practices, and the language of project management so that you are empowered to convince hiring managers that you do in fact have significant experience in project management.
