Translating Your Research Experience into Business Language



This video answers three questions

1. What are your research experiences that are of value to business?
2. How do you translate your academic experiences into business language?
3. How do I use that business language in my resume, interviews and business networking events?

We show how one can describe their academic research experience also including business and social experiences by shifting from exclusively “science language” to a more inclusive “business language.” We introduce and practice articulating your past experiences in this inclusive business language, by clearly describing the Situation, Task, Action, and Results associated with those experiences. We practice developing experience statement for 3 of the 24 SciPhD competencies.
